Kia Rio - Adding Speech Recognition to the Car

Kia Rio’s next gen technology is used in their car which is designed to reduce CO2 emissions and save fuel, and so being friendly to the environment. Kia Rio 2012 design is just perfect where we could see the shape of Tiger Nose grille, aerodynamic lines and sexy buttocks. Kia Rio is an environmentally friendly car that has many advantages in its class.

‘Technology Kia Rio Scavenger Hunt’ gives a sense of comfort when you are driving, where you will be assisted by UVO navigation that allows you to use voice to access the phone, audio, and Bluetooth, while you concentrate on driving. UVO technology is developed by Microsoft and their speech technologies help UVO understand how you speak and recognizing patterns with accurate sound, so it will be easier to access all features of the navigation while driving. You can navigate to Rio Explorer Page to know more.

The best feature of Kia Rio is UVO Technology that integrates the rear camera will display the video to UVO system with a wide angle so as to maximize your view when you park the vehicle. By using UVO you can also connect your mobile phone via Bluetooth technology to stream music, reading and responding to SMS through UVO system. UVO system uses touch screen technology with many features and also provides HD radio broadcasting stations that use high-quality digital signal.

They say the joy of an adventure is not the destination itself, but the journey that leads you to it. But what if both are equally exciting? Picture it: You’re on a scavenger hunt and have to discover landmarks of L.A. and find hidden clues. You’re accompanied by one of your best friends and you embark on your adventure in a sleek high tech, yet user friendly vehicle. Your prize? To meet a Hollywood celebrity!

Kia has sent two pairs of best friends on the Zip and Dash to Los Angeles geocache challenge in the 2012 Kia Rio 5-door. The teams utilize the car’s awesome features to make their way through L.A. in search of Christina Milian. From the latest Bluetooth system to its innovative USB input jack, these duos are star struck by more than just Christina herself.

The Kia Rio Scavenger hunt was pretty cool to watch. The competitors were able to use the various techy features built into the Kia Rio to solve the clues and eventually reach Christina herself.  They took advantage of features like the USB jack to load up an audio clip and the rear camera display to get a shot of one of the clues. The Kia Rio also features navigation and Bluetooth, two of the coolest features in my opinion. Definitley a plus for safe and hands-free calling while driving.

They first had to use a cube to answer trivia question about LA. The next challeng was to find a hidden Christina CD at Amoeba Records. Using the USB jack, they were directed to find the exact number of palm trees near Rodeo Drive. Next, probably the hardest challenge, was basically a hotdog eating contest at one of the most popular hotdog stands in LA, where they were directed to their next clue tucked into the roomy trunk of the Kia. This final clue led the teams directly to Christina in her hotel.

The 5 locations that the contestants visit are:
  1. The Griffith Park Merry-Go-Round – a historic landmark in L.A that has been running since 1937, and is a place where Walt Disney brought his children before building Disneyland.
  2. Amoeba Records – one of the most popular historic music stores in Los Angeles. Visitors can find rare vinyl, CDs, tapes and music memorabilia, and even catch a live show.
  3. Rodeo Drive – One of the most expensive and swanky shopping destinations in Beverly Hills.
  4. Pink’s Hot Dogs – An L.A. favorite serving hot dogs named after Hollywood celebrities.
  5. The Roosevelt Hotel – Smack dab in the middle of Hollywood Blvd and home to both history and the best parties in L.A.
Kia Rio is very interesting challenges, where you go around the city while enjoying theawesome features of the car.
