It was from the news of Korean times which quoted an executive of Samsung partner “Samsung will unveil the Galaxy Note 4 phablet, UHD OLED TVs, a Google Glass rival, and home appliances at the upcoming IFA. The Note 4 will have two versions - one with a curved OLED display for niche markets and the other a flat OLED display for mass marketing."
Samsung had a strong denial for the comment, however, from the words of Yoon Han-Kil, Senior Vice President of Samsung’s product strategy team, the firm has plans to launch the new Galaxy Note in the latter half of 2014.
PriceTill now there has been no word about the launching price for the new note but comparing with the previous handsets and speculating its specifications the experts have opinioned for the phone to cost between £550 and £600 or $950 and $1025 which lies in the launch price range of Galaxy S5.
DesignThe Galaxy Note series is deliberately bigger than a phone and smaller than a tablet, hence, is a phablet. Since we know that Note 2 was 5.5 inch, Note 3 5.7, so this made us expect Note 4 to go till 5.9 inches display.
We believe that your expectations will be met and the Galaxy Note 4 will come with a stylus, i.e. Samsung’s S Pen which will be powered by Google’s Android Operating System. It is also speculated that the unlocking of the device will have an option of handwriting recognition and will perform functions like calling.
Coming to various colors, the phablet is expected to be launched in monochromes used in S5 which are Charcoal Black, Shimmery White, Electric Blue and Copper Gold.
Operating SystemAs going by Android’s OS release experts are contemplating the new 4.5 or 5.0 version codenamed as “Lollipop” will be released. So we are speculating that the New Samsung Galaxy Note 4 will have the latest software.
ProcessorNews have come that Note 4 will be bundled with Qualcomm Snapdragon 805 Processor, it is a a quad-core Krait 450 chip which can be clocked up to 2.7GHz and has an Andreno 420 GPU.
AnTuTu Benchmarks have emerged with another configuration saying the Note 4 to have Samsung’s own 5433 octa-core processor. A score of 40,303 is better than the Snapdragon 805 but slightly begins the nVidia Tegra K1.
However, we think that Samsung might be working on both and once the testing completes Samsung will take up a call on which processor to release or may be both.
DisplayFollowing the Qualcomm, it calls the display processor “Ultra HD” because it supports 4K resolution capture and playback. This will make Samsung Galaxy Note 4 the first ever smartphone with 4K resolution screen. However, news have also confirmed that Samsung is working on both Quad HD and Ultra HD display and will launch the phone with the technology who wing the testing battle.
Another interesting fact that caught our attention is the possibility of a three sided screen which makes reading messages easier from various angles, this was confirmed by Samsung’s executive Vice President Lee Young Hee to Bloomberg.
Talking about the design, Samsung Galaxy Note 4 is expected to be launched in a dust and waterproof design. It has become more of a standard feature after Sony launched it with high end devices like Xperia Z1 Compact.
