Xiaomi Mi 4i : Review, Features & More

Xiaomi has launched Mi 4i in India here ‘i’ denotes “India”. Since this is a special Indian edition, the Chinese company had to be extra cautions with combination of hardware and specifications. Pricing the phone at an affordable price of 12,999 is amongst the best decision the Xiaomi’s management might have taken.

The phone is bundled with latest Android operating system and comes in a compact packaging. Let us have a closer look in the phone and its specifications.

Build & Design

Xiaomi MI 4i comes with dual tone color combination with polycarbonate back to withstand stains and screen made of Gorilla glass 3 for a stronger protection. The phone weighs 130g, with dimensions of 138.1x69.6x7.8mm to fit perfectly in hand.

On the left side you can see 2 micro SIM slots while volume rocker and power button can be spotted on the right. On lower front you can find 3 capacitive buttons to perform functioning of Home, Menu and Back.

Display

Xiaomi Mi4i has 1080x1920 pixel resolution and 441PPI IPS LCD capacitive display on a 5’inch big screen. IPS display keeps color subtle with perfect levels for reds, greens and blues to make whites look brighter and blacks to be darker.

Xiaomi has coined “Sunlight Display” technology for a better display to use phone while out in sun. This technology, with the help of ambient sensors, controls brightness and hence prepares the display for bright lights and dark dims.

Operating System

As already mentioned, Xiaomi Mi 4i comes bundled with latest version of Android OS, Android 5.02 Lollipop. The Android can be seen over Xiaomi’s custom MIUI 6.5.3 UI skin. This UI offers some useful gestures which transform handling of smartphone into much more fun.

Performance

We can see Mi4i is powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 Second Generation processor that combines a quad-core 1.7 GHz Cortex-A53 CPU, quad-core 1.1GHz Cortex-A53 CPU, along with a Adreno 330 GPU backed by 2GB worth RAM.

When benchmarking via AnTuTu, Mi4i was marked at 34,008 and any score over a mark of 30,000 is regarded very good for a budget smartphone. You can find other high performance budget phones on GearBest.com.

When observing the working performance, apps and games work without any lag or stutters. The experience of playing heavy games like Asphalt 8, and Clash of Clans was extremely fun-filed.

Camera

The phone is loaded with a 13MP rear and a 5MP front camera. Both of the cameras are equipped with 5 element lenses and are manufactured by Samsung/Sony. Cameras produce bright pictures with perfect hues and saturations. The challenge of shooting in low light is overcome by an added “light mode” feature.

Battery and Storage

With the sleek looks of phone you will not be able to make out that it houses a huge 3,120 mAh battery. On using the phone, the battery lasted for a day with good usage of Wi-Fi, Social Media and few hours of calling.

Xiaomi Mi 4i has a 16 GB of internal memory of which 4 GB is used for operating systems while the remaining 12 GB is for installing apps and performance.

Conclusion

Xiaomi MI 4i is yet another major overhaul from Xiaomi which is excellent choice if one needs a budget smartphone. You can find this great mobile on Gearbest.com with free shipping.
