Via Pushes New Energy-Efficient Rackmount Servers

Nowadays, servers consumes too much power. To fight against such power loss Via intoduces a new hardware. It brings out a network storage design which is a low-power 2U rackmount server, the NSR7800.

Features:
  1. It is based off the C7 processor
  2. Built to handle up to eight internal hard drives
  3. All such hard drives will be served through the Via platform
  4. It includes dual gigabit LAN
  5. Very low power consumption Via offers helps to tackle an increasingly difficult problem in server environments: power demands and heat.
Advantages:
  1. Pioneer of low-power computing
  2. It have an edge over Intel and AMD in their newer Nano CPUs.
  3. Starting with a small and medium sized businesses is somewhat easier.
Problems:
  1. It will have to overcome in getting their hardware into the data center in the first place.
  2. Also its enterprise environments and servers are not normally Via territory.
Will they be able to pull it off ? They certainly have the groundwork in place. The hardware they have been specializing in for years is exactly what server environments increasingly need. Small form factors, low power demands, high integration and more.
